Albert Robert Shook, 85, of Butler, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Sunnyview Home.He was born April 5, 1930 in Butler, the son of the late Cecil and Margaret (Adams) Shook.Albert was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War. He retired from Pullman Standard. Albert collected and worked on Bantam and Austin cars. He was very innovative, making things out of anything, even building his own home. He enjoyed playing singing and guitar, fishing, hunting and hiking with his grandkids.Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Shirley Shook of Butler; 2 daughters, Suzanne Shook of Butler and Connie (Stanley) Pakutz of Butler; a son, Robert Shook of Roanoke, VA; 4 grandchildren, Jessie, Kerri, Brian and Brian; 5 great grandchildren, Jillian, Samantha, Shea, Matilynn and Zachary; 4 sisters, Dolly Shook of Chicora, Marge Fisher of Slippery Rock, Betty Elliott of Butler and Velma Shook of Chicora; 4 brothers, Carl (Lou) Shook of Butler, Melvin Shook of Butler, Dale (Mary) Shook of West Sunbury and Dennis (Mary Ann) Shook of Butler.Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 2-4 7-9PM.Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., Butler on Friday, February 12th at 11AM with Pastor Dave Maitland officiating.
