Anthony R. Sassone, age 86, of Ave Maria, FL, passed away October 22, 2018, in Florida.
Born in Pittsburgh on May 22, 1932, he was the son of the late John and Ann Sassone.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a civil engineer. He also was an avid bowler. Although he lived in other parts of the country, he never forgot his roots in Pittsburgh and always loved watching the Steelers, Pirates and Penquins.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Rose Savannah Sassone; four children, Dale Sassone, of FL., Terry Sassone and his wife, Terri, of CA, Nicole Howenstine and her husband, Johnny, of CA, and Natalie Fischer and her husband, Brady, of MT; four grandchildren, Michael and Andrew Sassone and Marin and Marlee Howenstine; one great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Sassone; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Blessing Service will be held on Saturday, November 10, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
