A Fayette County woman was caught on Sunday with a loaded handgun at the Pittsburgh International Airport.
The incident marks the 32nd handgun found at one of the airport’s checkpoints so far this year. In 2017, TSA officers seized 37 firearms.
The woman- who police did not identify- faces a civil penalty from TSA for brining the gun to the checkpoint. A typical first offense for carrying a handgun into a checkpoint is $3,900.
Officials say even travelers with concealed carry permits are not allowed to bring guns past TSA checkpoints.
