Both drivers were seriously injured in a violent, weekend head-on crash that closed a portion of Interstate 79 for several hours.
The car vs. pickup truck crash happened about 9 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 79 northbound near the Zelienople exit in Jackson Township.
According to State Police, 37-year-old Jaime Perciavalle of Beaver County was traveling southbound on I-79 in a Honda Accord when her vehicle crossed through the median, struck a guiderail, started traveling northbound and eventually collided head-on into a truck.
The driver of the truck was 28-year-old Justin Seidling of Westmoreland County.
Police described both of their injuries as ‘serious.’
One of the northbound lanes of I-79 was closed for over two hours as crews cleaned up from the crash.
