Jeanne R. “Gigi” Sherman, 96, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 9, 2015 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 18, 1919 in Brockway, Pennsylvania to the late Alex Bovaird and Anna (Levis) Bovaird.
Mrs. Sherman was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed working puzzles, sewing and reading, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Sherman is survived by her husband, Frank Dale Sherman, whom she married December 31, 1948; one son, Kent O. Sherman and his wife Claire of Renfrew, PA; one daughter, Rhonda J. Riskosky and her husband Alexander of Butler, PA; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Edward Reddinger; six sisters; and seven brothers.
There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA.
Private burial will take place in the Summit Presbyterian Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the donor’s favorite charity.
