Marjorie J. “Peg” Campbell, 87, of Wexford, Pennsylvania, formerly of Butler, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Wexford Health Care Center.
She was born March 3, 1928 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late William R. Jones and Catherine B. (Batcheler) Jones.
Mrs. Campbell was a graduate of Altoona High School. She then went on and received her Master’s of Education from Penn State University. Mrs. Campbell taught 3rd grade for over 30 years at Center Township School in Butler, PA. She was a member of the Century Club, NEA, and volunteered at the Butler County Humane Society. Mrs. Campbell enjoyed fishing, reading and her pets. She attended Bakerstown United Methodist Church in Gibsonia.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by one daughter, Cathy L. McHugh and her husband Robert G. “Bob” of Wexford, PA; two grandsons, Dr. Brian C. McHugh and his fiancée Andrea and Sean R McHugh and his wife Cassandra both of Pittsburgh, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. “Bud” Campbell, whom she married November 17, 1950, and who passed away July 20, 2005.
There will be no public visitation.
A Committal Service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park, 380 Evans City Road, Butler, PA 16001 with Rev. Dennis Swineford of Bakerstown United Methodist Church officiating.
A celebration of Peg’s life will be held at the home of her daughter, Cathy and Robert McHugh on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
