Students at the Mars Area Middle School will receive a technology upgrade after the school board approved a plan with multiple vendors.
During a special meeting on Monday, board members voted to spend $585,000 for servers, storage and 661 Chromebooks. The money will come from the district’s capital projects fund.
The district had previously leased laptops to meet the one-to-one initiative, which provides a computer to every seventh and eighth grade student. That lease is set to expire.
