Two people are recovering from their injuries after a construction zone crash involving a tractor trailer on I-80 in Clarion County.
Authorities say that around 3:45pm Thursday, a tractor trailer driven by 48-year-old Ronald Lenhart Jr. of Allenwood PA was east bound on I-80, when he became distracted and didn’t notice the three vehicles in front of him slowing down in a construction zone.
Lenhart’s truck then crashed into a car driven by 38-year-old John Brundege of Corsica. After the initial crash, Brundege’s car then crashed into a second vehicle, and then flipped onto its driver’s side and slide down the road. A fourth car, and an additional tractor trailer , were also were bumped in the chain reaction.
Police say that Brundege suffered moderate injuries, and was transported by EMS to a local hospital.
Another driver, 66-year-old Royce Billings, suffered minor injuries and was also transported by EMS to a local hospital.
Lenhart will be charged with Careless Driving.
