After a delay to begin the school year, students at the Mars Area Middle School will receive new technology later this week.
Representatives from Information Technology Procurement Sourcing provided a technology update to the Mars School Board, and concerned parents, during a meeting on Tuesday night.
School officials say 661 new HP Chromebooks- purchased for use by Middle School students- have been delayed due to an extended bidding process and time necessary to set up a virtual desktop operating platform.
Eighth grade students will receive their Chromebooks on Thursday, while the rollout for seventh graders is planned for Friday.
