The South Butler School District will contract with an agency for help with filling vacant technical support positions.
The South Butler School Board approved a motion during a meting on Wednesday to enter into an agreement with OpenArc to provide candidates for four positions at a price not to exceed $158,000 for the 2018-19 school year.
Candidates chosen to work in the district will be required to undergo all background checks and obtain all clearances required of other district employees. If their work is satisfactory, the district could choose to hire the employees directly at some point in the future.
This money is already set aside for this purpose in the current budget. The district previously ended an agreement with a company that charged over $216,000 last year for tech support services.
