The public is welcome to participate in the discussion and possible revision of South Butler School District policies, beginning with those that govern meetings.
A meeting of the Policy Committee, which includes every member of the school board, will be held on Wednesday, July 25 at 6 p.m. in the South Butler Middle School Library.
At the meeting, Superintendent Dr. David Foley will introduce policies, members will discuss, and staff will make changes to the policies based on those discussions, before a first reading of the revised policies will take place in August. Feedback will continue to be gathered and discussed at the second reading in September when the policies will either be finalized or rejected. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to increase board transparency with the community.
Members of the community are welcome to make suggestions about clarifying policy language at the committee meeting or contact the superintendent if they are unable to attend.
