The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler could receive help from the state to improve the view around the new downtown Centre City Project.
A representative from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development recently spoke with an authority administrator about assisting in the cleanup around the dumpsters located on Cedar Street.
Some businesses on Main Street currently have their dumpsters behind their building which is next to the new Marriott Springhill Suites Hotel. Funding would be used to secure a nearby vacant lot which would be fenced in, allowing for the dumpsters to be hidden from sight.
The DCED official is speaking with a superior and plans to get back to the authority on what kind of grant money could be available.
