The Pittsburgh Penguins did not make another move after acquiring veteran center Jeff Carter from Los Angeles prior to the NHL trade deadline Monday, but other competitors made some splash moves.
In the East Division, the Washington Capitals made two moves prior to the deadline, with the biggest made when they acquired two-time 20-goal scorer Anthony Mantha from the Detroit Red Wings. The Caps sent Jakub Vrana and Richard Panik to Detroit, along with their first pick in the NHL draft his season and a second-round next year.
Boston picked up 2018 NHL MVP Taylor Hall from Buffalo, who is a six-time 20-goal scorer. The New York Islanders acquired Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac from New Jersey.
