The Freeport girls bowling team finished runner-up Saturday at the Pennsylvania State Western Regional tournament, falling to Plum in the championship match. The Yellow Jackets advance to the state championship in Lancaster this weekend.
The Butler girls finished seventh overall, 24 pins away from qualifying for the state final.
Freeport’s Makenzie Livingston qualified for the state singles championship Friday along with Tia Germanich of Deer Lakes. Butler’s Kelsee McConnell missed the state event by nine pins.
