The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Kasperi Kapanen scored twice for the Penguins. Tristan Jarry stopped 40 of 42 shots on goal, and the Pens held the Flyers scoreless on the power play in five tries.
The win ties the Pens with the Flyers with 25 points and fourth place in the East Division. Both teams trail the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders by three points for first place.
The Pens played the game without captain Sidney Crosby who was out of the lineup due to virus protocol. Assistant coach Todd Reirdon also missed the game for the same reason.
The Pens host the Flyers again Thursday night.
