On April 28th at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, the family of Ginny Craig, of Butler, had to let go of their Angel on Earth to become a beautiful Angel with Jesus.
Born in Kaylor, she was a daughter of the late Novie and Annie Zaccari Phillips.
Ginny loved her job and her friends at the Butler Area School District’s food service department. She looked forward to going to work every day. She was the owner of Deep Dark Secrets Tanning Salon for fourteen years, where she made many lifelong friends.
She was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Those who will love and miss her forever include: her husband of 53 years, Tom Craig, whom she married April 3, 1965; three children, Marci West and her husband, Ray, Missy Craig Herrit, and Curtis Craig; one brother, Joe Phillips and his wife, Mary Ann; and one sister, Marlene Rook and her husband, Jack.
Ginny is also survived by five beloved grandchildren, Dr. Raymond West, Cody West, Jordin West, Jacob Herrit, and Luke Herrit; two brothers-in-law, Dave Craig and his wife, Kathy, and Ed Leech; and a sister-in-law, Annette Phillips.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Phillips and Rich Phillips; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Loyal and Thelda “Pep” Craig; and sisters-in-law, Teresa Leech, Peggy Phillips, and Janice Phillips.
She will be sadly missed by her wonderful neighbors, Rod and Marcy Huey, Laura Campbell, and her “forever buddy”, Kim Scribner.
She was an avid sports fan and she loved her local Pittsburgh teams.
She took great pride in all of her grandchildren and loved watching them in their various activities. She was their greatest supporter!
She loved spending time with her family and her four-legged companion, Chloe.
To know Ginny was to love her- she had a contagious smile and loved to shine and sparkle. She was beautiful both inside and out.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Tuesday from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m., followed by a blessing service at the funeral home at 7 p.m.
