The Centre City Marriott Springhill Suites Hotel in Butler is rapidly nearing the final stages of preparations before opening.
An update on progress provided by the General Manager of the facility to the Butler City Redevelopment Authority stated that the facility is on track to open sometime in the beginning or middle of March.
Nearly all of the big furniture is in the rooms, breakfast and kitchen equipment has been installed, fitness center equipment is being delivered this week, exterior signage is ready to go up, and lobby furniture is on the way.
A total of 38 people attended a job fair held at the hotel last month and calls continue daily of people who are interested in working at the new facility. People will start to be hired for those positions over the next couple weeks.
