An annual fundraiser kicks off tomorrow that helps supports local breast cancer patients.
The 11th annual Riding For The Cure is happening this Saturday. The event brings hundreds of motorcyclists together who spend the day visiting establishments throughout the region raising funds for breast cancer.
Heather Leasure is helping organize the event and she says the community support has been amazing in the first ten years.
“We have raised $376,500 in ten years. Last year alone we raised $60,080,” Leasure said.
The funds all go toward local breast cancer patients to help them pay for different expenses that come with treatment—including wigs, chemotherapy, cancer screenings.
Registration begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the 11th Frame. Bikers will then visit two other establishments before wrapping up the day at The Beer Garden on Route 38.
Dinner is available for walk-ins at that time. Food will be served at 5 p.m.
