A number of large infrastructure projects in Butler County are set to receive federal funding.
According to Congressman Mike Kelly’s office, $14 million has been set aside for projects in Butler County in the 2023 fiscal year budget, if approved by the House and Senate.
Kelly says $6 million will go toward major repairs to the Karns Crossing Bridge, which is the blue bridge on Route 68 that leads to the Route 422 interchange.
$5 million is heading to Cranberry Township to upgrade the Brush Creek Watershed.
There was $2.5 million allotted for a project to update Route 422 in between the Duffy Road overpass to Whipporwill Road.
The Harmony Fire District received $1.5 million to help with the construction of their new fire house.
Kelly says the entire 16th District got over $25 million for projects in a process formerly known as earmarks.
