A couple of local businesses have made donations to improve education in the Butler Area School District.
NexTier Bank and Baglier Buick GMC Mazda each donated $5,000 to the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation in 2018 through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.
The money will be used to support the district’s STEAM program promoting activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.
Superintendent Dr. Brian White expressed his appreciation for the donations while explaining that the funds would allow the program to grow so that all students have access to learning technology.
