Two men from Allegheny County were convicted by a federal jury on Monday in connection with an armed robbery that happened in Butler County last summer.
Kahlil Shelton, 23, and Deron Howell, 25,are accused of armed drug robbery in Cranberry Township back in August 2017 in which one person was shot and wounded.
Prosecutors alleged the incident was a marijuana deal gone wrong when the buyers attempted to rob the seller.
“This case arose from a marijuana deal gone bad when the buyers attempted to rob the seller. Shots were fired and one of the participants was wounded. All of this occurred in a quiet Cranberry
neighborhood,” stated U.S. Attorney Brady. “Project Safe Neighborhoods, the federal program to combat the illegal use of firearms, is designed to address exactly this type of violent criminal activity.”
The incident happened at a home on Marshall Drive.
The two men will be sentenced this fall.
