Legislation crafted by a local lawmaker is now headed to the president’s desk.
U.S. Congressman Mike Kelly said Friday that the Taxpayer First Act- which he worked alongside Congressman John Lewis of Georgia to put together- will be the first reform of the IRS in two decades.
Kelly asserts it will make the agency a resource, not an adversary, for U.S. taxpayers.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi signed the legislation on Friday, which then headed to the Senate for signature. President Trump was expected to sign the legislation into law in the coming days.
