August “Augie” J. Badali, 78, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away after a courageous battle with leukemia on September 12, 2019 at the UPMC Shadyside.
He was born January 1, 1941 in Allison Park, Pennsylvania to the late August L. Badali and the late Margaret Guiffre Badali.
Augie started his teaching career at Karns City School District and retired as a Music Teacher from Moniteau School District in 1999. At Moniteau, he directed the Chorus, the Elementary Bands, High School Marching bands and the Musicals. He loved to go to car cruises in his 1959 Ford and enjoyed collecting model trains. After retirement, he gave band lessons in Parochial Schools and also worked at the Auto Auction.
Augie is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie Badali, who he married on June 22, 1963; three sons, Christopher Badali of Harmony, PA, Bradley (Barbara) Badali of Herman, PA, Douglas (Cheryl) Badali of Camp Hill, PA; six grandchildren, Brianna Snyder, Brittany Badali, Benjamin Badali, Gabriel Badali, Kaitlyn Badali, Madison Badali; one great grandchild, Andrew Badali; and a few nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Willard.
Friends will be received Monday, September 16, 2019, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm & Monday, September 16, 2019, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
A blessing service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, at 10:00 a.m. at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc. followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Butler, PA, with Father Kevin Fazio, officiating.
Entombment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Moniteau Instrumental Music Program, 1810 W. Sunbury Rd, West Sunbury, PA 16061.
