The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh is preparing a plan to allow for the safe reopening of local Catholic Schools this fall.
A team of school administrative officials is working with focus groups of parents and teachers as well as officials from the diocese to realize the current start date for elementary students which is August 27th. High schools have staggered dates to return to classes.
The team has pledged to follow CDC guidelines as well as state and local directives. Current plans will include daily temperature screenings for students and staff, frequent cleaning and disinfecting, social distancing in classroom and large events, and virtual options.
There are eight Catholic Schools in the Butler County Area including Butler Catholic, Saint Wendelin School, Saint Gregory School in Zelienople, and North Catholic High School in Cranberry.
