Republican candidate for governor Lou Barletta made a stop in Butler yesterday.
He talked with business owners on Main Street before having lunch at the Venue on Main. Barletta says his experience as a mayor and Congressman makes him the best candidate in a large field.
“I’ve been able to in my whole political career to bring people from both sides, Republican and Democrat, together. You do that by standing up for the people. It’s not about politics for me, it’s not about politicians. It’s about the people. And I have a record of doing that,” Barletta said.
Barletta says he got involved in the race because he opposed Wolf’s COVID policies. He also stressed creating an economic friendly environment and letting local leaders make decisions.
“I think it’s up to community leaders. The governor’s job is to create a pathway to help you succeed, whether it’s healthcare, education, or manufacturing,” Barletta said.
Barletta is one of 11 declared candidates running for the GOP nomination.
