An animal shelter in Erie is seeking thousands from a Butler couple after more than 50 animals were seized from their home earlier this year.
The ANNA shelter is suing Paul and Melissa Frederick for the care of the animals seized in April.
The shelter is asking the Fredericks to pay $15 per day and per animal, which are now in the care of the shelter since the animals were seized. As of August 31, 2024, the Shelter claims that number is $147,436.
That money would cover food and medical care provided for the animals since they enter the shelters care.
The Fredericks are still facing charges in criminal court for alleged neglect of animals and are currently out on a $10,000 bond.
