A new statewide training program looks to inform young drivers of being safe in work zones.
Pennsylvania’s New Driver Work Zone Safety Program uses videos, infographics, and testimonials to teach new drivers work zone laws, signage and key facts.
They also offer real-life scenarios to let drivers see the actual impact of work zone accidents.
“PennDOT wants you to be safe whether you’re working on our roadways or driving on them, and we take many precautions to keep work zones safe for everyone,” PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said. “We’re always looking for ways to improve safety on our roadways, for drivers of all ages and experience levels. That’s why we were proud to partner with the PA Turnpike on this program.”
The new program is a 35-minute virtual class on PennDOT’s website.
