The Butler VA Health Care System has started using a new tool devoted to helping veterans struggling with lower back pain.
The Annie Mobile Application has been locally developed and is now being tested with a goal of introducing it nationwide.
This Short Message Service text messaging system promotes self-care for vets through a personalized plan developed by VA clinicians followed by reminders from Annie about engaging in healthy activity to meet those health goals.
The Butler VA’s Physical Therapy Department uses the system to send automated messages on a specific schedule to vets and prompts them to do exercises in order to help with recovery from back issues.
