Butler County’s long-awaited dog park will open next weekend. This is amazing news for all the dog owners in the county who have been struggling to find suitable places to exercise their dogs.
The new park will come with a few rules and guidelines that owners need to follow, such as using a leash in places and picking up your dog’s poo, to help keep the park an enjoyable place for everyone. Whilst it’s not a rule, it’s also been recommended that dog owners consider purchasing Dog Tags to put on their dog’s collar. These tags can be personalized with the owner’s contact details, as well as the dog’s name. This is helpful to have in case the dog runs away. Even the best-trained dogs can become excited in a dog park, so it’s always better to take precautions like that in case they run away. Whoever finds your dog should then be able to contact you. Whilst this seems like a worst-case scenario, it does happen in dog parks, so it’s better to be prepared.
The park will be located inside Alameda Park in Butler Township and will include two separate fenced-in areas, one for small dogs and another for large dogs. The park could be a great place for new dog owners to help their pet get outside and start familiarising themselves with other dogs and the outdoors. In fact, facilities such as this may even inspire you to become a dog owner so you can take your new companion to a park like this one. Having a look at some small dogs could help you come to a decision on a new addition to your family.
A late-addition to the park will be a 47-inch television screen that will be installed inside the park’s pavilion. It will display the rules of the park and any other announcements or current events going on. Health tips for owners will be displayed too, hopefully giving people better knowledge on how to keep their dog healthy. For example, chicken and rice has some worrying side effects on dogs that most people don’t know about. Small tips and facts like this will be useful for all new owners coming to the park. They will also have additional information for dog owners, such as sites like https://cbddoghealth.com/ where owners can help helpful CDB remedies as well as remind dog owners they need to get their pet licensed, per state law.
Butler County Parks Director Lance Welliver told the Butler County commissioners during a meeting Wednesday that he worked alongside Butler County Treasurer Diane Marburger to get the TV added to the park.
“We will also be displaying any upcoming rabies clinics or dog licensing events so all the dog owners who are standing at the park watching their dogs play will see them,” Marbuger said.
She noted the TV is being paid for by administration fees her office is given by the state Bureau of Dog Law and no county taxpayer dollars are being used.
The dog park is set to open on Saturday, May 11.
