Butler County’s latest unemployment numbers put the county- once again- with the lowest jobless rate in the seven-county region.
The March 2019 job report- which are the latest numbers released by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry- put Butler County’s rate at 3.3 percent. That’s the same rate the month prior, when analysts called it a possible record low.
The next lowest in the region is Allegheny County at 3.5 percent- down one-tenth of a percent since February.
Officials said Butler’s 3.3 percent in February was the lowest recorded figure in the county since the department began recording in the 70s.
