Butler County is still searching for a permanent solicitor and will retain the services of a former solicitor to do the job through the end of the year.
The county hired Julie Graham back late last year to do the job for six months after former Solicitor Mike English left to take another job. Those six months have passed, and the commissioners voted Wednesday to keep Graham on the job for another six months- through December.
Graham will be paid $9,500 per month.
Graham worked as county solicitor for 25 years, retiring in 2013.
Board Chairman Leslie Osche said the current arrangement is working for now, but the county plans to post the job for a permanent replacement this summer.
