A local business has made a donation to improve education in the Butler Area School District.
MSA donated $10,000 to the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.
Company representatives met with engineering students at the Butler Senior High School on Friday. The money will be used to support the district’s STEAM program promoting activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.
“We sincerely appreciate the generous contribution MSA made to our schools through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program,” Superintendent Dr. Brian White said. “Their support will help us grow our STEAM program for our students. I’d also like to thank the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation. Without our Foundation, an EITC contribution to our schools would not be possible.”
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) technically goes to the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, since they are an approved Educational Improvement Organization (EIO). Then, the Foundation distributes all money to our schools. EITC funds are always designated for a specific approved program. In our case, the funds are designated for STEAM (K-12) at BASD.
