Are you still avoiding potholes during your daily drives?
During an annual transportation outreach meeting on Monday, PennDOT Maintenance Manager for Butler County Mike Mattis said crews are working as quickly as they can to rectify winter’s problems.
“Currently, we have five crews throughout Butler County patching,” Mattis said. “There’s a lot of potholes. We’re trying to get to them as fast as we can.”
Last year to patch potholes in Butler, crews used 2,400 tons of materials, which cost $750,000. The department spent 18,000 man hours to do the work.
“And we still sometimes can’t get to everything,” Mattis said.
