Firefighters were on the campus of Slippery Rock University on Monday, but it wasn’t to fight a fire.
Members of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team used the campus to practice drafting procedures from a pond and utilizing it to flow water from a tower truck.
Crews also reviewed basic hose connections and tower set-up operations with the Slippery Rock Police Department. The fire and police departments work closely on many different types of emergency scenes.
“This is an example of a few tasks police could assist with at the scene of a fire,” according to a Facebook post by the fire department.
The university ended its spring semester last week sending students home for the summer.
