Butler County’s past will come to life during historic cemetery walks offered this weekend.
The Butler County Historical Society is presenting “Echoes from Our Past” on the grounds of the North Side Cemetery beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Executive Director of the Historical Society Pat Collins says the time of year- and the focus of the event- have changed from years past.
“We’ve changed this event from the fall to the spring. We thought we’d try something new,” Collins said in an interview. “We’re going to honor our veterans. Butler County has always done well with men and women stepping up to fill the ranks of our military.”
Those planning to attend this factual outdoor theater program should wear comfortable walking shoes. This approximately two-hour program does not include ghost stories but rather costumed actors will assume the identities of real local veterans.
The cost to attend is $14 per person. Visit the Historical Society’s website for more information or to purchase tickets.
