A statewide program will allow police in Butler Township to spend more time cracking down on aggressive driving beginning this week.
One of two aggressive driving sessions per year begins Monday and continues through mid-August.
This effort is made possible through funding from the National Highway Safety Administration and the state to allow for officers to give extra attention to roads that have been flagged as problem areas whenever they have time apart from their normal patrols or duties.
The Butler Township Police Department has been participating in this program for at least the last 10 years.
