Police have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing a child in Lawrence County late Monday night.
43-year—old Keith Burley of Edinburg (Lawrence County) was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Youngstown, Ohio Tuesday morning, according to State Police.
There had been a manhunt underway for Burley as he had been considered armed and dangerous for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend’s 8-year-old child. Police believe Burley fatally stabbed the child around 11 p.m. Monday inside a home in New Castle following a domestic dispute with his 36-year-old girlfriend, who is the child’s mother.
According to court records, Burley just got out of jail and is on parole for other homicide charges in 1999. He will now be extradited back to Lawrence County to face charges in Monday’s stabbing.
