Organizers of the annual ‘Connoquenessing Creek Clean-up’ are again touting another successful round.
Volunteers joined members of the nonprofit Allegheny Aquatic Alliance on Saturday and focused on a 16-mile stretch of the creek between McCalmont Road in Butler Township and Zelienople.
Organizers say the crew pulled over 800 tires from the creek, along with pounds and pounds of trash and metal.
Another cleanup will be held on Sept. 7.
