Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have continued to drop in the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.78 per gallon.
Prices are about four cents cheaper across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.77 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $2.54 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.91 in Mercer.
The national gas price average also continued to fall to $2.59 as we head into the Labor Day weekend. This figure is nearly a quarter cheaper than last year’s Labor Day holiday weekend, which saw a price of $2.83 per gallon, according to AAA.
