Have you ever seen solar power in action? Well, if you’re interested a new tour is being offered this weekend to give you an opportunity to check it out.
It’s the first ever Butler Harvest Solar Tour. It’s a bus tour this Saturday that begins at noon in the Northgate Plaza in Zelienople.
The tour will visit a variety of solar installations ranging from a home to a cider press.
Butler County has 50 solar installations, which Solar United Neighbors Pennsylvania Program Director Henry McKay says ranks Butler County 37th out of the state’s 67 counties.
“We’re hoping a tour like this will give Butler County residents an opportunity to find out how solar energy could benefit their home or business,” McKay said.
McKay said neighboring Allegheny County has over 1,000 solar installations and believes that once more people become aware of solar energy, and its benefits, that the energy source will become more prevalent in Butler.
