Employees of Gateway Engineers have moved into their new office space which used to be a local grocery store.
The civil engineering company is a tenant of building owner Joe Gray who purchased the former Friedman’s Freshmarkets on West Brady Street nearly one year ago for just under $500,000.
According to Gray, there is still over 8,000 square feet of the building that is currently unoccupied and available for those interested in taking advantage of the space and location as Gateway did.
“On the other side, there’s another 4,000 square feet that way and then 4,000 square feet above. So we have 8 to 9,000 square feet empty in the back for whatever. There’s still coolers there, there’s a loading dock, its got all concrete floors, it’s a nice space.”
Although Gray did not have an exact figure for how much was spent on renovations to the property, a $140,000 loan was secured through the Butler Downtown revolving loan fund last May.
