Members of the Butler community gathered this morning inside the county government center to remember the life of Dale Pinkerton.
Numerous county employees were on-hand to honor the former commissioner.
Current County Commissioner Leslie Osche spoke about Pinkerton’s legacy.
“I’m not sure there will ever be an icon that embodied butler any greater than Dale. His and Millie’s service to this community is and has been endless, capturing the hearts and generosity of all who dwell here,” Osche said.
“While nobody can take that place, together we all have a responsibility to continue that legacy of service that was so well lived,” Osche said.
Pinkerton’s wife Millie was also on-hand to accept the “Commissioner Pinkerton Fantastic Day” proclamation.
“He loved the county. And so many of you touched his life too. Thank you for always supporting him,” Pinkerton said.
“Thank you for [the proclamation], this is so nice. We’ll all miss him, but do keep smiling because that’s what he would want. And have a fantastic day,” Pinkerton said.
Pinkerton served as Butler County Commissioner from 2008-2016.
