A new proposal to the state’s Constitution may remove the position of Lieutenant Governor from the ballot.
The amendment would give candidates for Governors the ability to choose their running mate, similar to a Presidential election.
Currently, the Lieutenant Governor is selected by the voters in its own category on Pennsylvania primary ballots.
The proposed amendment still has a way to go before becoming law. It must be passed again by both chambers in the next legislative session, and then it will be put to the voters in a referendum vote.
