Another local convenience store is hoping to sell alcohol at one of its stores in Butler Township.
Officials with Speedway gas station and convenience store have requested to transfer a liquor license to their store at 400 Hansen Avenue to allow for the sale of beer and wine.
Because the license would be purchased from an unknown owner in Winfield Township and brought into Butler Township, a public hearing must be held. That hearing is set for April 20th at 7 p.m. at the Butler Township Municipal Building.
The move would still have to be approved by the state Liquor Control Board. Butler Township currently has 29 active liquor licenses within the municipality.
