The United States Department of Justice is making a large amount of grant money available to address different community issues.
A total of $850 million is available to help public safety agencies respond to the challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Awards through the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding program will be made quickly with money available for hiring, paying overtime, protective equipment, and training.
More than $163 million in grants are available to address addiction problems through various state and local programs. More than $83 million in grants are available for school districts and other agencies and organizations to prevent and reduce school violence. Nearly $53 million is available to fight human trafficking and help victims.
