Gas prices in western Pennsylvania held steady for the most part over the last week both regionally and locally.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.00 per gallon which is the same as it was last week.
Prices dropped by a penny across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.07 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $1.75 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.20 in Beaver.
The average national gas price increased by a penny this week to $1.78 which is $1.11 cheaper per gallon than it was last year. AAA expects more fluctuations at the pump in the coming weeks as states begin to reopen and motorists get back on the roads.
