The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is observing “Drinking Water Week” across the state by trying to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation.
The Commission is focusing on overcoming challenges to safe and reliable water service such as improving aging infrastructure and eliminating contaminants.
The PUC recommends that residents check home plumbing for leaks and fix them as soon as possible as well as install water efficient appliances, only wash dishes and clothes with a full load, and save water by taking shorter showers instead of a bath.
