PA State Police investigated an assault on Unionville and Oneida Valley volunteer firefighters.
Crews responded to 416 Oneida Valley Road for a working structure fire on June 5, 2020 shortly after 11:00 a.m.
Unionville firefighter Mark Lauer responded directly to the scene in his personal vehicle. Upon arrival, Lauer announced himself as a firefighter to the suspect, later identified as Jacob Adam Rivers. Rivers refused repeated instructions to stay out of the house. Once Rivers was physically removed from the house, he threw a brick and Gatorade bottles at Lauer. Rivers then drew a knife from a leather sheath attached to his belt and brandished the weapon at Lauer and EMS personnel.
Rivers then fled the scene and Troopers have issued an arrest warrant.
