With many still cleaning up after violent storms across the Butler County area earlier this week, Central Electric Cooperative is offering text and email notifications to members about outages.
CEC is encouraging members to sign up with the web and mobile app called SmartHub which can allow members to pay bills, manage electricity use, contact the CEC with service issues, and soon receive outage notifications.
To receive these notifications, members must provide the CEC with up to date contact information and register a SmartHub account. Members who currently have a SmartHub account should verify all account and contact information then sign up for the notifications.
All members who sign up for SmartHub before July 1st will be entered into a drawing to win an Outage Preparedness Kit valued at $60 that includes a solar powered emergency radio. CEC will give away 100 of these kits.
