As the area gears up for a stretch of days above 90 degrees, Central Electric Cooperative is reminding their customers to not overuse electricity.
A peak alert was issued by the CEC, asking home owners to conserve power by turning off all non-essential electric items.
Also, items like dehumidifiers, pool pumps, and electric appliances should be run outside of the peak period—which is from 1 to 7 p.m.
The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures in the low 90s throughout the weekend in Butler County. The stretch of hot temperatures will continue through at least next Wedensday.
